COLUMBIA -- Columbia city buses will soon become rolling billboards.
Council members approved a contract with Midwestern Company Transit Advertising.
The company will manage the selling of advertising space on Columbia Transit Buses.
Transit Advertising won the contract over Lamar Advertising.
City officials said the advertising on their city buses will be family friendly.
The contract bans the advertisements of alcohol, tobacco and adult entertainment.
City leaders have not decided when the first ads will appear on their buses, nor have they figured out how much money they will make from the city bus advertisements.
