COLUMBIA -- A Columbia man was found guilty for first degree murder today.
Grady Dortch was charged with shooting and killing Miles Heard, 28, of Columbia during an incident at Douglas Park in November 2008. Police said that Heard and Dortch knew each other
Dortch turned himself into police, and then Boone County Prosecutor charged him with first degree murder and armed criminal action.
The autopsy indicated that Heard was shot in the leg and chest.
The shooting occurred in front of about 50 witnesses.
