JEFFERSON CITY -- Jefferson City police are investigating two armed robberies from Saturday night they believe were the work of the same person.
Shortly after 7:30 a.m., a single male entered the Family Dollar store in the 700 block of Madison Street, armed with a semi-automatic pistol.
Police say, after a clerk ran to the rear of the store, the suspect fled without getting any money.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m., a suspect matching the same description held up the Best Western Hotel on Christy Drive, taking money from the cash register.
Police say they're checking surveillance video from both places.
