COLUMBIA -- The Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force is bringing sex offenders across the country to justice
An investigator from Boone County traveled to Miami, Fla. this week, to testify against Jeffrey Doland, 47, of Uniontown, Ohio.
In 2007, Doland offered to pay an undercover officer to allow him to hold her 12-year-old daughter underwater for his sexual gratification. The officer posed as the mother of two children.
Doland went as far as to travel to Miami to meet the undercover officer. He was arrested at the Miami airport after giving an undercover female officer $500 to “dunk” her girls and suggested they purchase Velcro straps.
He said he left his restrains in Ohio because he feared they would be confiscated by airport security.
Doland also contacted an undercover officer from the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force with a similar request. The officer flew to Miami to testify at Doland's trial.
During the officer's testimony, Doland pleaded guilty and agreed to a 20-year prison term. He faced up to 90 years in prison.
