CENTERTOWN -- A fire destroyed a two-story home in Centertown early Wednesday morning on the 1300 block of Marion Street.
Three adults inside the home escaped unharmed when the fire broke out around 3 a.m.
Fifteen volunteer firefighters from the Regional West Fire District arrived just minutes later, but the house was already fully engulfed.
Two brick chimneys collapsed just after firefighters arrived, a short time later the roof and second story collapsed. It took firefighters about half-an-hour to put out the blaze.
Crews have been monitoring hot spots all day.
Investigators said they do not yet know how the fire started but that residents said the fire started somewhere upstairs.
