Several local school districts get new leaders

The Jefferson City School district is saying goodbye to it's leader and welcoming in another. Superintendent Bert Kimble will retire today. His replacement, Brian Mitchell, 39, of southwest Missouri.

Mitchell has 18 years of experience in public education. His most recent job was deputy superintendent of the independence school district. A place where board members say has prepared him for this job. Mitchell is scheduled to start tomorrow.

Also scheduled to start tomorrow, Fulton's next school superintendent, Jacque Cowherd, the former Columbia deputy superintendent, will replace Mark Enderle who moves to a district in, Independence, Missouri.

The Columbia School District will get a new leader in Chris Belcher. Belcher says dealing with budget cuts will be his first priority.
