OSAGE BEACH -- A mid-Missouri couple has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars of Blu-Ray video discs.

Osage Beach Police say 31-year-old Laura Branstetter of Russellville and 31-year-old Cory Dwyer of Holts Summit were arrested Wednesday at the Osage Beach Target store.

Police say Branstetter had hundreds of dollars worth of Blu-Rays in her possession. They found Dwyer near a van in the parking lot that contained several hundred dollars worth of the discs and drug paraphernalia.

Police say these two may have been involved in thefts at other stores around the lake and a major theft operation at a Kansas City area Target store.

The duo, along with another woman is suspected of stealing at least $10,000 worth of electronic media there.

The two are in the Miller County jail awaiting second-degree attempted robbery charges.

More than a mugshot

These two are not a couple. But were operating together.

I know they used to be good people with good hearts.
If you asked them in high school if they imagined this is where they would end up - they would have denied it.

Their drug addiction has dictated their lives, stolen their identities and they have surrendered their souls for their next fix.

It's easy for us to watch these stories and dismiss the faces we see as statistics of what drugs will do to you. But these are people, human beings with mothers. They have children that call them daddy and mommy. Their mothers, fathers, sisters and children don't see their faces as a statistic.

The saddest part of this situation are the families, parents, siblings and children who lost them. And spend endless hours praying, longing for them to return, to the fun and lovable people they once knew.......and these two hollow, empty beings don't even know they are gone.

Wow I don't know what went wrong, they look like upstanding members of society.

....another example of either methamphetamines or opiates stealing the souls out of human beings.
