COLUMBIA -- Stephens College has named a new president.

Dianne Lynch has succeeded Wendy Libby, who will take over as president at Stetson University in Florida.

Lynch will leave her current position as dean of the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in New York.

Lynch will be in Columbia today, last night she talked to KRCG from an airport.

“I couldn't be happier,” said Lynch. “Stephens is an extraordinary learning institution. It's a place committed to students and to faculty innovation. It has a long history of excellence. I feel very privileged to be a part of its future."

KRCG news will talk with Dianne Lynch today on the Stephens College campus.

Lynch begins her new duties as president June 2.
