FULTON -- A Fulton man is in the Callaway County Jail today on charges that he stabbed another man at a party.

24-year-old Nicholas McCall faces three charges, including felony assault.

Investigators believe McCall stabbed an Auxvasse man several times at a house party early Sunday morning. Witnesses say McCall and the victim were fighting before the stabbing. McCall then fled the scene and Callaway County deputies spotted his car heading east on Route F. After a short car chase, he took off on foot.

Authorities say the car McCall was driving was reported stolen in Illinois.

They arrested him Monday at a home in Fulton. A judge set McCall's bond at $60,000.

The stabbing victim was taken to Callaway Community Hospital and has since been transferred to University Hospital in Columbia. His name has not been released.
