JEFFERSON CITY -- Police say a Jefferson City man raped his daughter after a day of drinking before the Super Bowl.

KRCG News is withholding the man's name to protect the identity of his daughter.

Court documents say the 38-year-old man got drunk and believed he had gone to bed with his wife.

The documents say he awoke to realize he'd had sex with his 13-year-old daughter instead. Records say the man told the arresting officer, "I did it."

Authorities say another man drove the suspect to the jail just after 2 a.m. Monday where he turned himself in to police.

The father faces charges for first-degree satutory rape.

His wife took their daughter to a local hospital for examination.

In my honest opinion, I don't think they should've released their address and names to the public. I go to school with this girl, everyone at my school figured out about it because of the media, and I really don't think their family wanted everyone to find out.

Everyone's giving people assumptions.

The girl, i'm not going to say her name, was kind of upset at the fact that everyone in the school was talking about her when she came back.

"EVIL" is too kind of a word. Thats why I hate ALCOHOL so much. First hand experience I know what it does to some people...it turns them into MONSTERS! These folks that do anything to children are "demon posessed"

I feel very sorry for his daughter but I know this man and have experienced his evilness first hand! He has gotten away with this before because the victim was too afraid of him and she still is after all these years. He was not only a child molester, but a wife beater and a drunk. He also has a criminal record a mile long and has already served time in prison for other offenses. His wife also knows what he's done in the past because she had been warned when his children were little. She also knows what kind of abuser he is first hand herself . I am so thankful that justice will be served finally after 15 years!

i was drunk ?

there is absolutely NO excuse for this !!, 13 year old daughters do not need to awaken with their father on them.. he needs to do some serious time,, the " i was drunk " excuse certainally does not apply in this case ! he was flat out busted and needs to face the charges.. probably, the only way he came up with this LAME excuse was his wife busted him, tok her to the hospital for tests, and then he came up with the " i wasdrunk " story

Release of name

The NT has just released this man's name. What a shame. I am so glad that KRCG has more respect for that poor child than to subject her to public humiliation.

You have a right to say your opinion, and so do those who do believe in prayer. Now why don't you go do something positive for the world instead of polluting it with your negativity.

Adam Jones you sir are sadly mistaken. There is power in prayer.

Please stop relying on prayer for anything. It does nothing but make YOU feel good.

Situations and Speculations

In no way am I making any excuse for what the father did. He is a horrible person and needs to be punished to the most extensive amount the law will allow. However, blame is being cast upon the mother of this child. Was it ever stated that the child was in the parents bed? Don't read into a story that you know nothing about. Being drunk is no excuse for anything that has been done to this family. Admitting to it.. HA! We will see how he pleads! Please everyone keep this family in your thoughts as this is a very difficult time for them.

No excuses

If getting drunk causes you to mistakenly sleep with your 13 year old daughter, then I think it's time for rehab. That to me is a poor excuse. Where exactly was the wife, and why was the daughter in their bed?

To-A Friend ------------Yes this family needs prayers, but no one is making allegations he turned himself in. I just can not understand being that drunk and even drunk is not an excuse.I am just glad he did admit it. Maybe the girl will not have to testify and he can plead for a 10 year jail sentence. If this went to court any smart jury would convict so he needs to think of his child and take any deal sent his way. We need to keep praying for this poor girl as her whole life was messed up in a second due to some stupid drunk.

Think before speaking!

What this family needs, "no excuse", are prayers. This happened in the early morning hours while everyone else in the household was sleeping. Do not for one instance think that this would have ever been allowed in that home. It infuriates me to know that there are allegations being made by people that have no idea what the truth is. Think before speaking!

no excuse

Drunk is no excuse but the question that I have is where was her mother during all of this, if they live in the same house hold why didn't she put a stop to it?

How could you be so drunk to not know you are raping your innocent daughter. You would think her screaming daddy dont would clue you in.I am glad that he admitted what he did and turned himself in but I still hope goes to jail for a really long time!!!!!!!! My prayers are with this young girl that she can somehow heal and try to have a normal life again.
