SEDALIA -- Sedalia police traveled Wednesday to Atlanta, Ga. to interview a "person of interest" in the case of a missing Sedalia woman.

Dana Bruce, 23, was reported missing 11 days ago after she failed to return home.

Dana Bruce left her two young children in the care of a babysitter a week and a half ago on Oct. 4. The kids haven't seen ther mother since. Dana was reported missing by her family that next morning, when she never returned from a night out with friends.

Bruce spent most of the night at Malone's Bar on Main Street in downtown Sedalia. Dale Malone, the bar's owner, says he saw Bruce several times throughout the night inside the bar, and bar staff say they saw her leave with a man.

"I recall seeing her as I was going by,” said Dale Malone, the owner of Malone's bar . “She touched my shoulder, and I turned, and she said, 'Hi, how are you doing?”

Bruce left the bar with the man around 11:30 p.m. Police say Bruce went to the babysitter's home, gave the babysitter more money to continue watching the kids for the rest of the night, and that was the last time she was seen.

Sedalia police say they believe the man she left the bar with is now in Atlanta.

"We sent a team down by Atlanta, to interview that person. Took some samples from them, and their vehicle and brought it back,” said Sedalia Police Chief John DeGonia.

Police are not releasing the man's name and say he is not under arrest. They are not ruling him out as a suspect either.

"As far as foul play goes,” said DeGonia, “She left willingly with this subject and after that, the witnesses said they didn't see her anymore."

If you have any information on the case, you are urged to call the Sedalia police at (660) 827-7823.
