State fire marshal investigates suspected arson

BELLE, MO. -- The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating suspected arson in Maries County.

It happened at about 4 a.m. Wednesday at Royal Oaks Charcoal Plant on Route EE in Belle.

Early reports said nearly 80,000 lbs of charcoal and two structures were burning.

The Belle Fire Department, Bland Fire Department, and Vichy Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire.

No one was injured.
