WEST PLAINS, MO. (AP) -- A manufacturing company plans to close one operation in Mexico and expand its plant in West Plains, bringing up to 200 new jobs to southern Missouri.

Gov. Jay Nixon announced Monday that Invensys Controls plans a $6.9 million expansion in West Plains. Invensys manufactures valves, thermostats, switches and burners for gas cooking appliances.

The company already employs 215 workers in West Plains.

Invensys received $1.1 million in economic incentives from the state to help with the expansion of eight new product lines in West Plains.

John Fougere, the spokesman for the Missouri Department of Economic Development, said Invensys received an enhanced enterprise zone tax credit, jobs training funding and recruitment assistance savings.
