A hinky adventure to a creek

Milo and I have been cooped up for much of the summer… but I had enough this past weekend.  Nothing was going to stand between me, Milo, and Mother Nature.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for... porky pumpers?

Talk about the “dog days of summer!” To beat the heat, what’s better than a little ice cream? Lizzi and Rocco’s Natural Pet Market was putting on an ice cream social Thursday and we decided to go.

Encouragement and pride in a cold, devilish spot

I guess Milo and I have a “Saturday of Memorial Day weekend” tradition: the Devil’s Icebox. Our adventures were vastly different.  Unlike last year, this year’s ended with me having an overwhelming sense of pride in my puppy.

Hiking in Capen with a little help

For the first time, Milo’s “daddy”, Jason, came along with us, and boy am I glad he did! Because Jason had some studying to do, we stayed close to home and went to Capen Park.

Raising money with pooches and people

Milo, Jason and I went for a walk Saturday, but it was no ordinal stroll around Stephens Lake. We were participating with dozens of people and pooches in the Bark of Boone County event.

Fighting cancer with a canine by your side

This Saturday, Milo and I will be participating in the Bark of Boone County event in Columbia. It’s a walk to raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer.  Unlike a lot of these kinds of walks, at this one, canines are not only invited, but they’re encouraged to come!

An inspirational trip to a garden

The MLK Jr Memorial and Garden was a nice, serene place to take Milo. If we were looking for a quiet place to relax on a Sunday afternoon, this would be a fabulous spot, but Milo wasn’t feeling the “serene-ness” as much as I was.

Who knew a visit to the vet could be so fun?

I had no intentions of writing a blog about our visit to the vet, but Milo had too much fun for me not to!

What a difference a year makes

A couple weekends ago I guess you could say we got cabin fever, so I decided to take Milo to one of my favorite places on earth: Mizzou campus!  It also just happened to be a year to the day I took him to MU for the first time.

Meeting new friends in Kansas City

Our adventure this weekend took us outside of mid-Missouri and into Kansas City!  While I had fun shopping with my friends Milo got to play with some new friends… or at least he tried to.

Our 1st holiday season with Milo

Rain couldn't dampen the Jefferson City Christmas Parade

Milo and I were both DRENCHED by the time the Jefferson City Christmas Parade was all over, but it was sooo much fun it didn’t “dampen” our mood too much Despite the rain, Milo was one happy pup because of our long “walk” or at times jog to catch up to our float.

Spreading holiday cheer across mid-Missouri

‘Tis the season for holiday happenings! The Columbia Holiday Parade is under our belt, now we're preparing for the Jefferson City Christmas Parade!

An Autumn adventure

Fall is quickly slipping away here in mid-Missouri, which is why I’m glad Milo and I got out for an autumn adventure this past weekend. We went to Rocheport; one of my favorite mid-Missouri cities!

Where to go for an Autumn adventure?

I love Fall. That’s why I’m hoping to make this weekend’s adventure Autumn-related… but I need suggestions!

Farm animals and crowds at the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival

Besides seeing tons of people, Milo got to see all kinds of creatures. He even got to check out some of the craziest looking chickens I’ve ever seen.

Milo tests his skills at the Columbia Canine Sports Center

On October 8, Jason, Milo and I went to the Columbia Canine Sports Center for an open house. There were free goodies and items for sale, but what we were most interested in was all the agility equipment.

Dog-friendly weekend events: Pumpkins and an open house

There are two great events going on this weekend that are not only dog-friendly, but pups are actually encouraged to come! One event is all about dog activities.

Hound Dog Homecoming and Fridge Art

Milo got to socialize with some other dogs and he even made us some nice refrigerator art!

Milo visits Greek Town on a momentous night

Late in the evening on Sunday, May 1 we learned Osama bin Laden was killed. I knew we wouldn’t have a crew to send that late at night, so I grabbed Milo, my camera, and we headed to campus.
