FORT LEONARD WOOD -- On December 31, 2010 an EF-3 tornado struck Fort Leonardwood, and dismantled dozens of homes.

On Thursday, Officials at Fort Leonard Wood hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate 40 new homes that have since been built to replace those destroyed through the Woodlands New Homes Expansion Project.

Officials plan to have 160 duplex homes, each with a tornado safe room, completed by May 2013.
