Behind every person, there's a story, and a teacher at South Callaway High School is showing his students just that through his English class that teaches culture and humanity.
But students say it's a project that goes far beyond their high school walls.
Have you ever thought about the power of a question?
What if someone asked, What is your biggest regret in life, or, If you could wake up anywhere, where would it be? There's an endless number of responses, which is exactly the premise of this project.
If you go to YouTube and type in "One question 50 answers," you'll find videos from around the world. In these, people are asked just one question, but everyone gives a different answer.
Nick Debrodie, a junior, said, "The beauty of it really is what response we can get. We can get a variety of responses, whether it be physical, philosophical or just heartfelt responses."
With KRCG 13's photographer Kon Kostin behind the lens, the students from Doug Sains's English class hit the streets of Columbia with their question: What do you miss the most?
Interview after interview the students got different answers.
Debrodie said, "It could be a grandparent that died or it could have been the one that got away in high school."
As for what Debrodie misses the most?
"Just every moment in life that I didn't really live to the fullest," he said.
Sains hopes to have the project finished and on Facebook for all to see by the end of the school year.
