COLUMBIA, MO. -- A Columbia man is in jail today after a car chase through Boone County Friday night.

Daniel Peek, 23, refused to stop his car for officers from the Boone County Sheriff's Department in the area of New Haven Road and Warren Drive around 9:45 p.m.

A car chase ensued, traveling east on New Haven Road, then north on Rolling Hills Road.

A deputy was able to use a tire deflation device on Peek's car near Highway WW, at which time Peek drove the car into the Arbor Falls subdivision and came to a stop on Bower Lane.

Peek then fled the vehicle on foot and was taken into custody after a struggle with several deputies.

Peek was arrested for resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, careless and imprudent driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Bond was set at $10,145.

35-year-old Daria Littleton, also of Columbia, was a passenger in the car at the time.
