Authorities are investigating the death of a newborn in Randolph County.

Monday morning, Moberly Police were called to a home on West Coates Street for an unresponsive 4-day-old baby boy.

The Randolph County Coroner said an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Boone County.

More details are expected to be released then.

Authorities said it's standard protocol to investigate any time a baby dies.
