Jefferson City crash causes critical injuries

JEFFERSON CITY --
Emergency responders said a man was critically injured after a car crash in Jefferson City.
Police said at about 4:30 a.m. Jason Simonds was driving in the 1300-block of East Miller street when he ran off the right side of the road.
Simonds hit a fire hydrant and then a tree.
The 32-year-old was first taken to St. Mary's Hospital and the later to University Hospital with critical injuries.
Simonds was not wearing a seatbelt.
