MOBERLY, MO -- Missouri Highway Patrol Troop B officers responded to the first fatal car crash in 2013 Sunday night.

Steven Dale-Jenkins was headed southbound with friends on Highway 63 near route B in Randolph County around 8:00 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.

The 15-year-old's Jeep went through the median and flipped several times before coming to rest on its roof.

Cameron Hackley, a 17-year-old from Moberly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Only two of the five vehicle occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Hackley was not one of the two passengers wearing a safety device.

The other occupants of the Jeep were transported to University hospital with minor injuries.
