The State Capitol Building was buzzing this afternoon as those with and without disabilities rallied on the first floor rotunda.

The event was called "Take Note: We Vote", and their message was loud and clear. They believe that all people, regardless of their physical or mental condition, deserve to be treated as equals, which includes their quality of life and access to health care.

"
People with disabilities want to be a part of their community. They want to live in homes in the community. they want to have access to real jobs, and friends and social networks," said Delores Sparks, a Program Specialist for the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council.

The ralliers also had the chance to sit and chat with their legislators about those issues.

Governor Jay Nixon was also on hand to speak at the event as it wrapped up.
