Drug bust turns up drugs, guns and cash

An anonymous tip lead to a large drug bust in Moniteau County.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Department and the Mid-MO Drug Task Force searched a home in the south-eastern part of the county.

That searched turned up guns, drugs and cash. Officers said more that 20 firearms were found, 3 of which were stolen. Officers also found 3.1 ounces of meth and nearly $20,000 in cash. The value of everything found was nearly $50,000.

Two arrests have been made so far. Officers arrested 21-year-old Phillip B. Hedges for possession of a controlled substance. He’s in jail on a $25,000 bond.

Officers also arrested 39-year-old Allen L. Libbert for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and three counts of receiving stolen property. He’s in jail on a bond totaling $150,000.
