BELLE, MO -- School officials and police in Maries County are investigating an incident at Belle Elementary School.
Belle Police Chief Michael Dixon told KRCG a 1st grader brought a toy gun to school on Thursday. The toy pistol wasn’t discovered until late in the school day.
“No one was ever in any harm,” Chief Dixon said.
It’s not known why the student had the toy gun at school. Maries County R-II school officials plan to meet and discuss the matter on Friday.
School officials confiscated the toy pistol. Right now it’s unclear whether the child will be punished.
A call to the school district was not returned.
