ST. JAMES, Mo. (AP) -- It was a week ago that a bus accident killed a 15-year-old St. James student and left many others injured.

On Thursday, students were returning to John F. Hodge High School in the mid-Missouri town for the beginning of the new school year. It's also the first time all of the students have been together since the wreck on Aug. 5.

Two buses carrying St. James band students were part of the accident on Interstate 44 near Gray Summit. Fifteen-year-old Jessica Brinker was killed, along with 19-year-old Daniel Schatz of Sullivan, who was driving a pickup involved in the wreck.

Counselors were on hand Thursday to help still-grieving students cope.

So far, no charges have been filed in the wreck. The final Missouri State Highway Patrol report could take several weeks.
