One dead, another seriously hurt after accident on I-70

Updated, 1:00 p.m.:
An accident on Interstate 70 about 3 miles east of Kingdom City left one person dead and another seriously injured.
The accident happened about 3:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
Highway patrol troopers said a female was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes in a 2004 Nissan and crashed head on into a box truck carrying seafood.
The box truck caught on fire.
The female was pronounced dead at the scene and her name and age haven't been released.
The truck driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Adamson said, “We are trying to figure out how the crash happened. We are documenting everything that happened. We’re providing aid to victims of the crash.”
MoDOT crews cleaned up the roadway while one lane of traffic was closed for several hours.
There is no word yet on why the female driver was going the wrong way.

An accident on 1-70 near Kingdom City early this morning left one person dead and another seriously injured.
The Highway State Patrol said a female driving an SUV the wrong way crashed into a semi-trailer, which caught on fire, around 5 a.m. around mile marker 151 on I-70.
The female was pronounced dead at the scene and her name and age haven't been released. The semi driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The Highway Patrol said traffic should be moving again shortly. There is no word yet on why the female driver was going the wrong way.
