Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid and challenger Sid Sullivan squared off during a candidate forum Friday afternoon.

It was the first time the two candidates appeared together before Election Day.

Members of the Boone County Democratic Party sponsored the event during their weekly Muleskinners luncheon.

McDavid told voters that he accomplished a lot during the past three years and wants to continue to help Columbia grow economically.

Sullivan said Columbia needs a city government that is transparent, accountable and data driven.

Voters go to the polls on April 2.
