JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- D
owntown Jefferson City was swarming with culture today, as several events kicked off at the same time this morning.
Governor and First Lady Nixon invited people out to their home for their annual Harvest Fest.
There were activities for all ages, including live music, kettle corn, and pumpkin painting and educational demonstrations for the kids.
More than a dozen volunteers gave tours of the historic building.
"The Governor's Mansion and the first families have a tradition of celebrating the Fall with the public,” said Kathy 'Calamity Jane' Carew, a volunteer tour guide working during the Harvest Fest. “So they open their home and the grounds for the public, for this celebration of Fall."
The 5 hour event is one of the most popular annual attractions at the Governor's Mansion
