A wanted man was arrested after a member of the Boone County Sheriff's Department Drug Enforcement Unit recognized him.

The officer was conducting a routine patrol when he spotted 51-year-old David McKenzie riding in a passing car. Members of the Hallsville Police Department stopped the vehicle on Route B at Low Crossing Road.

McKenzie was arrested for three warrants, including two felony charges, all with no bond allowed.

During the arrest, authorities found that McKenzie had a small amount of cocaine and controlled prescription pills belonging to another person. So, in addition to the warrants, he was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance.
