BOONE COUNTY -- A wanted man was arrested Monday after being on the run for several months.

Monday, at about 7 p.m., authorities arrested 23-year-old Brian Burns on numerous charges.

The Boone County Sheriff's department said Burns sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman at her home on Millbrook Drive on October 15, 2012.

Investigators said when Burns kicked in the front door of the home at about 1:30 a.m.

The woman escaped the residence and contacted authorities when Burns fell asleep. When deputies arrived, he had left.

Burns was arrested for sexual assault, felonious restraint and first degree burglary.

A six-month old baby girl was present at the time of the incident, and was not injured.
