About a month after Ryan Ferguson was denied a new trial in Cole County Court, his father is determined to find the supposed witness that could make Ryan’s case for innocence.

Billboards will rotate to six different locations every four weeks. The first location will be on the north side of I-70 in the east bound lane across from the Olive Garden. The billboard will rotate to two other locations on I-70, as well as two locations on Business Loop 70 and one on south bound Highway 63, a bit south of Columbia.

Each billboard contains a composite drawing of the suspected witness, and advertises a $10,000 reward for anyone who knows his whereabouts.

Ferguson’s father said the information on the witness comes from testimony in court.

Ryan Ferguson is serving 40 years in prison for the 2001 murder of former Columbia Daily Tribune Sports Editor Kent Heitholt.

*An earlier version of the story included an incorrect number of billboards.
