It's something that no one wants to see a child go through. Cancer claims hundreds of pediatric patients' lives every year, but one lady in Columbia stepped up in a campaign for cancer research today.

Dr. Kristina Aldridge is an University of Missouri faculty member that decided to show her support for Saint Baldrick's, a group that raises funds for child cancer research.

"Today we did a little pre-event where I shaved my head to show what would happen on the 14th, when there's a whole group of people who are going to do this and raise money for this foundation," said Dr. Aldridge.

A
s she mentioned, that event will take place on April 14th at Blue restaurant in Columbia, when over forty people have pledged to shave their heads for cancer research.

Check out Saint Baldrick's website for more information on the event.
