JEFFERSON CITY -- Thousands of people crowded the Capital City Saturday for the Downtown Association's Annual Harvest Fest.
Parents and kids got to take home free pumpkins, see performances, and check out antique farm equipment.
Games were also set up and the money raised from them will go to help the United Way.
The Governor’s mansion has traditionally been decorated in a Halloween theme, but this year the Nixon’s went simply with fall. But kids still showed up in costume.
The governor’s event featured an apple cider press, kettle corn and live music in addition to tours of the mansion.
His staff says over 3,000 visited the mansion. Festival organizers say around 5,000 turned out for the festival.
