Audio enthusiasts are usually brought into the hobby by attending a car audio show or seeing a great system in a magazine.

These great systems inspire everyday individuals to get themselves into competitions when all they really want is a competition grade system. The world of competitive audio is just like any other competition and requires time and money so it is important to know the real reason you are competing.

Most competitors do it for one reason, and that is fun. While the competition atmosphere is great they enjoy showing off their systems.

A lot goes into having a winning vehicle. It is important to know exactly what you are after so you can determine just what contests you will be best suited for and the money that it is going to take to pull off. Once in the competition it is important to have the rule book handy as a reference. You want to make sure and know the ends and outs of your system as well as the rules to avoid any deductions in judging.

IT is also important to have with you documentation of the installation. The judges need to be able to see what they can’t see and to see the work that has gone in behind the scenes of your install. Photograph all of the steps that brought you to where your system is. This will help insure you don’t lose points

It is said that public speaking is one of many people’s greatest fears, and it is definitely an important aspect of competitive audio. You will have to be able to talk to the judges about your car and stereo. IF you are a true enthusiast this should be easy because you know exactly what you are talking about and are excited to share the information.
