8) Seek support. Don’t hide your digestive problems from loved ones. Help them understand when and how they affect you. There are plenty of support groups available for sufferers that can help you avoid isolating yourself by giving you ideas, answers and general support.
9) Take charge. Join your doctor in fully understanding your condition. Ask him or her questions about your treatment as well. Keep track of your experiences and bring them up at your next visit to the doctor.
10) Beware of miracle cures. Some alternative treatments do show plenty of promise such as colon cleansing and fasting, however, they can also be expensive, ineffective or even dangerous. Always consult your doctor before trying an alternative plan or treatment.
