The internet now plays the largest role in the investigative stages of finding a new church. Churches’ websites are now often quite sophisticated and informational. Many even provide podcasts of their sermons which is a convenient way to get an initial idea of their appeal for you.
Some things to consider in your initial searching stages are
Determining what denomination you’re interested in the most.
Consider the church your friends attend.
Make your list of considerations and visit their websites for service information
Attend a few worship sessions at each
Meet some members of a few of the churches you’re considering
Pay close attention to your emotions! You want to feel a connection from the beginning.
Consider the studies and ministries offered by your choice to determine if they appeal to you.
And most importantly, pray about it! Finding a good spiritual fit makes all the difference. There’s nothing more inspiring than looking forward to your next opportunity to attend service. Your own personal faith, family traditions and current needs determine the church that meets your needs the best.
