The details of the redesigned 2011 Durango are now available and Dodge claims that it’s been “performance-tuned to thrill anyone who truly loves to drive.” This mid-sized SUV/Crossover still boasts the flexibility of 3 row seating yet now has a more refined suspension system.

This all new Durango stays true to the traditional SUV mindset with exceptional towing power and trailer sway control as a standard feature. Powered by the standard Pentastar V6, a 6,200 towing capacity still considerably out pulls its competition. Or drivers can opt for the 5.7 liter Hemi V8 and up that pulling ability to a 7,800 towing capacity. Both rear and all wheel drive are available. Dodge says Durango should be able to travel 500 miles on one tank of gas.

A fully independent suspension and stiffened unibody construction derived from the Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV is “engineered with the driving enthusiast in mind” resulting in a premium driving performance combined with SUV capability and crossover versatility.

With this new Durango, Dodge should have a winner on its hands.
