Mark Millard, Jr., Family Service Counselor, Phone: 573-636-3838, E-mail: mark@millardfamilychapels.com Mark Millard is a licensed Preneed Agent and Life Insurance Agent for Millard Family Chapels. Mark traveled from West Virginia to Missouri during summer vacations to help his Uncle Reid with his new funeral home in 1990 and 1991. Cutting grass, washing cars, and valet parking for visitations were mostly what the job entailed. After graduating from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1996 with a Bachelors of Accountancy, Mark packed his belongings to make Missouri his home. Early on Mark assisted with some business acquisitions like Caplinger’s Clothing for Men, Gold’s Gym, Chase Limousine, and Busch’s Florist. Customer Service and Community Service has always been a calling for Mark. At Lanier Worldwide Mark earned many leadership awards for his dedicated Customer Service. At wetsuCREATIVE, Mark helped a friend, Jason Jett become one of the most recognized names for a graphic design firm in the Jefferson City area. In 2006, Mark was selected as one of Jefferson City’s 40 under 40. Mark is a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Jefferson City and is involved in the community. He volunteers as a YMCA soccer coach and has been involved with several community agencies including the March of Dimes, Boys & Girls Club, Samaritan Center, and the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce. Mark coordinates the Christmas Luminary & Remembrance Service and the Memorial Day Services at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Mark mostly enjoys spending time with his family. He met his wife Jana (Raithel) at Steve’s Family Style Restaurant and they were married in 1998. Jana is the Leasing Manager for deVille Southwest and Hidden Oaks apartment complexes. Mark and Jana have two boys, Braden and Alex. Both Braden and Alex go to West School. The most rewarding part of Mark’s career is seeing first hand how appreciative families are of our funeral pre-planning service. Mark says, “The initial reaction when the process is done is one of relief for our families. It’s the kind of relief you get when you’ve finally finished that project you’ve put off for years. You get a sense of accomplishment out of taking the burden off other family members.”
Answer There are several reasons why pre-planning is a good idea.
Peace of Mind
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress.
Personal Choice
Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice. Pre-planning provides you with the time needed to make practical, detailed decisions that reflect your standards, lifestyle, taste and budget. And we assure you and your family that the choices you make will be carried out as planned.
Lower Costs
When you finalize your plan, we can advise you of the total cost. You do not have to set aside funds for your plan, but doing so protects you against escalating funeral costs. By locking in today's funeral costs and ensuring that the necessary funds are set aside, you help relieve yourself of unnecessary future worry and your survivors of an unexpected expense. Answer Since 1976, funeral service professionals have taken great pride in offering bereaved families the Living Memorial® program. With the selection of a Batesville casket or an Options® by Batesville cremation product, your funeral director can make arrangements for a tree seedling to be planted in selected woodlands at no cost to you.
Developed by Batesville Casket Company, in agreement with various government agencies, the program has been responsible for reforesting many thousands of acres with more than ten million trees.
In the United States alone, the Department of Agriculture Forest Service has planted trees in most of the 156 national forests. In addition, international reforestation projects are underway in cooperation with The Grand River Foundation and The Canadian Forestry Association in Canada, the Australian Trust for Conservation Volunteers, and The National Forest Company in the United Kingdom.
The species and locations of the trees are determined by the government agencies in charge, based upon the greatest reforestation needs, such as areas damaged by forest fires and natural disasters. The Living Memorial program has grown to become the world's largest memorial reforestation effort.
The Living Memorial program - commemorating one generation and caring for the next. Question Can you help with other then the funeral services? Question What methods of payment do you accept? Answer We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
