Receiving care at a Golden Living Center is the most effective way to get you back to the life you enjoy. We want you to experience The Golden Difference, which reflects our goal of providing personalized, quality care that helps you return back to your normal activities as soon as possible. Whether you need Golden Rehab after surgery, or you or a family member need more complex medical care, we provide a comprehensive, customized plan that enhances and promotes well-being. Question Can your facility and staff aid in different levels of rehabilitation? Answer Rehabilitation is an essential element for restoring health and wellness. Golden Living Centers across the country have partnered with our sister company, Aegis Therapies, to help our patients achieve their short-term rehabilitation goals. A national leader in therapy services, Aegis Therapies provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, joint replacement therapy and outpatient therapy.
Our goal at Golden Living, backed by The Golden Difference, is to help our patients enjoy their best level of physical health possible, and when possible, help them return home to the daily activities they enjoy. To assist patients in fully understanding their progress, Aegis Therapies utilizes a unique system that quantitatively measures rehab outcomes. Through Golden Rehab Outcomes, we are able to show patients their progress as they work toward recovery and adjust their therapy as needed.
Patients who are discharged home may also be able to continue their rehab through Aegis Therapies' outpatient program, oftentimes working with the same therapist they saw at their LivingCenter.
Additionally, our team has special-skills training to assist with balance issues, fall prevention, cognitive (awareness) skills, complex medical conditions and incontinence. Question Could you tell me a little more about the hospice care at your facility? Answer
It's important to remember that hospice is not a place, it's a medical and philosophical approach to care. At Golden Living we collaborate with local, licensed hospice agencies to provide medical, emotional, practical and spiritual support to our residents with terminal illnesses and their families.
Hospice care is most often given to individuals in the final stages of cancer, emphysema, diabetes, Alzheimer's, dementia, ALS, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and neuromuscular, kidney and liver disease. Our hospice care collaborators are available to provide our terminally ill residents with individualized care from a team comprised of:
• Nurses who help manage physical symptoms and communicate information to the physician
• Social workers who help residents and families understand the emotional journey
• Spiritual coordinators who assist residents in meeting their spiritual end-of-life needs
• Volunteers who give their time in order to provide one-on-one attention to residents
• Bereavement coordinators who help families prepare for their loved one's passing and who remain in touch for months afterwards.
No matter the illness, it is important to remember that hospice is about living, it reaffirms life and emphasizes dignity and comfort while enhancing quality of life for the person coping with a terminal illness. Visit http://www.aseracare.com/ for more information.
