Surface Spider Vein Laser Treatment
This non surgical treatment uses laser energy to close down spider veins. The effectiveness can be increased with the use of sclerotherapy, and our team will use special imaging systems (Veinlite) to identify problem veins feeding into the spider veins so they can be treated.

Question What should you expect during your visit? Answer We ask that you arrive 30 minutes early for your ultrasound and consult appointments. This will allow time to change into exam shorts and be photographed, as well as complete paperwork if needed.
When you arrive for your first visit you will be asked to verify demographic data, fill out medical information and present your insurance card.
A Registered Vascular Technologist will perform a vascular ultrasound. This non-invasive procedure is generally completed within 60 minutes, and the images will be read by the physician.
The initial vein care consultation is the next step in the process, and this visit is complete within 60 minutes. The physician will review your ultrasound images, your medical history, examine your vein condition and then discuss vein care therapy options with you.
Missouri Vein Care will file for preapproval with your insurance company and will file a claim after treatment is complete.
Co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance and outstanding balances are due at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover, cash and personal checks, and we will work with you to find an acceptable financing solution.
In the event that your insurance does not cover the treatment plan we have a team to work with you regarding payment options.
Patients may also qualify for assistance through Care Credit. Question What is vein reflux? Answer This means that the blood in the leg veins is back-flowing – down towards your calf and feet - instead of flowing up towards your heart. This causes pressure in your veins which can lead to many uncomfortable symptoms and the appearance of varicose and spider veins. Question What are the symptoms of vein reflux? Answer Common symptoms of vein reflux are leg cramps, leg pain or aching, swelling, itching, skin discoloration, skin sores, restless legs, heaviness in legs, varicose veins and spider veins. Question Can vein reflux be treated? Answer The superficial veins under the skin can be treated successfully with a number of techniques. However, the deep veins can only be treated with compression stockings with variable improvement in symptoms. Question What causes vein conditions? Answer A family history, pregnancy, standing or sitting all day can contribute. Question Will my vein condition go away? Answer Over time, vein conditions do not go away and develop more symptoms including enlargement of veins and development of new varicose and spider veins. Question What can compression stockings do for me? Answer For some patients, compression stockings can help alleviate symptoms, but they will not make the vein condition go away. Question What should I do if I have varicose veins during pregnancy? Answer It is recommended to wear thigh high compression stockings (if tolerated). Treatment of varicose veins should wait until after delivery of the baby. Question How do you diagnose vein reflux? Answer If you have bulging varicose veins or have leg symptoms, the diagnosis is made with a simple ultrasound of your legs completed by our team of specialists in our office. Question Do I have to go to another location for my ultrasound?
