Why fireplaces work, and how best to build them, has been a topic of hot debate literally for centuries
Dale Deraps, President and Owner of Advanced Chimney, Certified Sweep/Licensed Master Mechanical Contractor/Missouri National Chimney Sweep Guild member, NFI member Dale started his business in 1982 as Country Comfort. He incorporated Advanced Chimney Techniques, Inc. in 1986. We have been proudly serving Mid-Missouri for 28 years. Dale is a retired Marine and served our country proudly. Sandra Deraps, Certified Chimney Sweep/Bookkeeper/Part Owner Sandra has worked for Advanced Chimney for 23 years. Sandra is in charge of the chimney sweeps, estimates, job schedules and inspections. Omie Johnson, Certified Chimney Sweep - Office Manager and Salesman Omie has worked for Advanced Chimney for 16 years. She schedules the repair crews jobs, manages inventory and also does payroll. Cedar Deraps, Certified Chimney Sweep/NFI Gas Certified Technician/Missouri Propane Certified Cedar has been employed since he was 16 years old, working summers while he was in high school. After high school, Cedar went to the Certified Chimney School in Boston, MA. Cedar is our head gas technician and installs the wood stoves and liner systems. Jeffrey Johnson, Certified Chimney Sweep/Foreman and Head Mason Jeff has been employed with Advanced Chimney for 15 years. He installs liner systems for both wood and gas appliances, rebuilding masonry chimneys and fireplaces, building chimneys from the ground up. Jeff is also able to build a unique fireplace known as the Rumford. Joshua Wells, Certified Chimney Sweep and Mason Josh has been employed with Advanced Chimney for 4 years. He installs wood stoves and liner systems. Kathy Kempfer, Secretary for Advanced Chimney Kathy answers the phones and schedules chimney cleanings and inspections. She has been employed with Advanced Chimney for 3 years. Joseph Ivicsics, Certified Chimney Sweep Joseph has been employed with Advanced Chimney for 2 & 1/2 years. He installs gas inserts and gas fireplaces, as well as liner systems for both wood and gas appliances.

Certification requires continuous training to ensure the safety of you and your family. Answer We specialize in crown repair, water proofing, woodstove, gas stove, and fireplace insert installation, accessories for safe burning, unlisted stainless steel chimney lining/relining, gas flue lining/relining, poured-in-place relining chimney systems, tuck pointing, masonry repairs, new fireplace and masonry construction, prefabricated flue installation, and inspections.
