“A Kwik Kar is a happy car!”
Although salt is sometimes necessary in the winter months allowing for all of us to travel safely when snow and ice accumulate, it can be very harmful to the worth of your car.
Question Is car washing safe for the environment? Answer Absolutely! At Kwik Kar Wash all of our soaps and waxes are biodegradable, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. In fact, it is much safer for the environment to wash your car at a professional car wash than in your driveway. Because we control the flow rate and the water pressure, we use far less water per car than washing at home. Our water is also sent directly to a water treatment plant, unlike washing in the driveway, where the waste water goes down the storm drain and can end up as run off in local rivers, lakes or stream. Question What is the best way to protect my car from salt and rust? Answer By washing not only the top of the car but also the bottom. We recommend an under carriage wash along with an application of a rust inhibitor at least every other week. The under carriage wash is a high-pressure rinse that flushes all of the salt and road grime from the under body of your car. The rust inhibitor is a specially designed chemical that actually inhibits oxidation on all surfaces of your vehicle. It will help prevent rust from beginning or spreading. Question How often do I need to wash my car? Answer Many variables contribute to the frequency of washing of a car: road conditions, weather, where you are driving, and personal preference all play a role. In general, we recommend washing about twice a month and more frequently during the winter, with an application of a wax and undercarriage at least every other wash. This will add a protective shine to your car’s finish and keep it looking like new. Question Will an application of spray wax actually make a difference? Answer YES! All spray wax application provide a buffer between the painted surface and the elements. Different applications provide better protection. If you demand the BEST, ask for our RAIN X Complete surface protectant. RAIN X Complete gives your vehicle increased shine, the best surface protection and water repellency for safer driving in poor weather. RAIN X Complete is engineered to create a water repellent layer that chemically bonds to all exterior vehicle surfaces, including glass, paint, trim and plastics. A treatment of Rain X Complete helps level out the microscopic surface irregularities on the surfaces of your vehicle to enhance shine and water beading. Question Can I wash or wax my new car right away or do I have to wait a specific period of time? Answer The new modern acrylics, enamels, and clear coat finishes show more dirt and elements and require your new car's finish to receive more tender care immediately.
Be careful to wash your car properly. It's important that you exercise extreme care—especially when washing your new car for the first few times. Many initial washing errors result in soap flash, water spots, setting stains and loss of luster. Without the benefit of protective coating layers that your car will receive over the years, mistakes made during the first few washes may be hard to correct.
Should you decide to wax your car, use a wax that's compatible with your paint. Check your owner's manual and the wax's label for instructions.
The best advice is to trust your car's finish to a professional from the beginning. Come to Kwik Kar and we’ll gladly share tips with you on how to care for your new car.
