Amelia Waters

School: Northeastern University/Regis College
Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts

Amelia joined the KRCG news team in September 2007 and continues to keep busy working on stories for the station's Web site and newscast. As a multimedia reporter Amelia has a unique spin on stories. She also independently produces and edits KRCG News at Sunrise.

Amelia comes to us from Boston, Massachusetts where she grew up and went to college. At Northeastern University she majored in journalism, and wrote for the school's newspaper, the Northeastern News. She also worked as a disc jockey for the college radio station WRBB 104.9. Later on she went to Regis College where she obtained her degree in Management and Communications with a 3.5 GPA.

Before KRCG Amelia worked as a back-pack journalist for her local access channel in Massachusetts. She also interned in Washington D.C. in both radio and television. She worked as a producer and correspondent for Talk Radio News Service, an online radio service that delievers stories and sound bites from meetings in the Capital buildings and surrounding areas. She also interned at WTTG-FOX 5 News gaining experience on and off the camera.

On her free time Amelia enjoys pilates, yoga, running, going to rock concerts, writing and cheering for her New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Amelia is also a vegeterian (believe it or not it is possible in mid-Missouri.) She owns a bunny, Ms. Bunna and a cat, Tuna, whom she rescued off the highway in May 2008.
